Mwnt, the spectacular secluded beach between Cardigan and Aberporth, is among the 10 places chosen for the final shortlist by the National Trust’s ‘special places’ competition. The public is now being asked to vote online to choose the most special place in Wales. Mwnt faces competition from places such as Snowdonia, the Gower peninsula and Hay-on-Wye.
Mwnt is one of the hidden gems of the Welsh coast. It is a beautiful and secluded location, with its unique 14th century church and sandy beach. Like the whole of the Ceredigion coast it’s rich in sea wildlife such as dolphins. It’s a place with a special atmosphere and is a place to create fond memories. I really hope that the people of Ceredigion get behind Mwnt and vote for it to be crowned Wales’s Special Place.
