Dealing with the after-effects of the storms

A number of agencies have done excellent work to recover from January and February’s storms and ensure that Ceredigion is open for business.

One important aspect that needs attention is our communications network; my constituency office has had a significant number of calls about phone and broadband problems in the wake of the wind and rain.

We’re in regular touch with BT, and have brought a number of cases to their attention. I understand that there are about four times as many faults as usual, mainly due to the rough weather, and the company has been bringing in additional staff from outside the area to try and deal with the problems.

A number of issues have now been sorted – for instance in the Ystwyth valley, Trefeurig and Llandyfriog – and my constituency office continues to work with BT to help residents where we can.
